AG Bell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language®

Procedure for Nominating Candidates to the Board of Directors and
Certification Committees

I. The Nominating Committee will post an announcement that nominations are open.

II. The announcement shall indicate the following:

For Academy Board of Directors Positions:

a. The number of candidates being sought for the Academy Board

b. A job description for board members including a list of desired skills and attributes that prospective candidates should posses

c. The term for each vacancy being filled

For Certification Committee Positions:

a. The number of candidates being sought for the Certification Committees

b. A job description for committee members including a list of desired skills and attributes that prospective candidates should posses

c. The term for each vacancy being filled

III. The announcement shall be posted to the Academy website, the AG Bell website, and other locations as may be deemed appropriate by the Nominating Committee.

IV. Nominations shall remain open no less than thirty (30) days.

V. The Nominating Committee will gather nominations and compare review applications against the desired skills and attributes.

VI. All AG Bell Board appointments to the Academy Board shall be made by the AG Bell President with the advice and consent of the AG Bell Board of Directors. All Certification Committee Nominees meeting the desired skills and attributes will be forwarded onto the Academy Board for Selection.
